Assistant Director

I had my first taste of live television while at NBC during the 2008 Beijing summer Olympics. Since then I’ve always appreciated the fast pace and amount of collaboration required to broadcast live.

On a much smaller scale than the Olympics, Art21 and PBS produced a live, multi-camera show that was streamed on pbs.org. Hosted by Robin MacNeil, The Present Perfect was an interactive discussion about performance between artists Laurie Simmons, Oliver Herring, and the online audience/participants. As the assistant director, I kept the various segments of the show on schedule and controlled the playback of videos, images, and graphics.
